Do you have some bananas that are about to go bad? Are you struggling to think of some easy recipes that don’t include baking a banana bread? Below are some of my favorite and easy go-to snacks that include bananas. Whether you’re looking to incorporate bananas into a morning meal, or an after-dinner dessert, these recipes are easy to make and also taste great.
Banana Almond Butter Toast
First off, let’s start with a classic morning meal: toast. Toast is great because you can put all your favorite toppings on it! There are no rules in the game of toast. As for me, I love pairing bananas with a nut butter such as peanut butter or almond. Pictured below, I created a toast with almond butter, banana, and topped it off with some coconut flakes and honey!
Banana Yogurt Bowl
Moving on to brunch time, a yogurt bowl is a perfect balance of a food that won’t make you want to crash in the afternoon. Personally, I love pairing Greek yogurt with granola, bananas, and blueberries. To top it off, I love to add some coconut flakes and maple syrup, but you can add something like chia seeds, sunflower seeds, or a honey.
Frozen Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites
When you it’s not quite dinner time yet, and you need a guilt-free snack, a chocolate covered frozen banana bite is perfect. I like to pair mine with a little peanut butter as well. To make, the first thing you do it cut the banana into slices and stack them with peanut butter in the middle. Once you’ve done that, place the little stacks in the freezer to chill. After about 20 minutes, get some chocolate chips or chocolate melts, and place in the microwave until melted. Once the chocolate is melted, take the banana bites out of the freezer and dip in the chocolate. After dipping in the chocolate, place on a cooking sheet and back in the freezer to chill. Wait about 30 minutes to make sure they have hardened. Once they’ve chilled, take them out and enjoy!
Moving on to my favorite meal time, dessert! My favorite banana related dessert is banana pudding. Banana pudding is easy to make and you can make it so many different ways. I like to put it in cups for easy serving. Below is a recipe I followed from Magnolia Bakery. I’ve heard it is one of the best, if not THE best, banana pudding recipe. People from all over the world fly to New York and stand in line to get it, so that sounded good enough for me! They even have a Banana Pudding Kit you can buy online and ship to your home.
